How to Scan Aadhaar to PDF on Your Phone Without Losing the Copy
You already have twelve photos of your Aadhaar. You still cannot produce a clean copy when a KYC desk asks. The problem is not the camera. It is that “scan Aadhaar to PDF” got replaced by a burst of jpegs named IMG_4471, forwarded into a chat, compressed, and forgotten.
This is not legal advice about where you may store an identity card. It is how to make one copy that you can actually find.
One card, one file
- Front, framed. Crop to the card. No sofa, no fingers, no other IDs in the shot.
- Back only if you need it. Many desks want both. Put them on one PDF page-pair, not two mystery photos.
- Light from above. Plastic laminates glare. Tilt a few degrees if the photo still blooms.
- Name it.

If you cannot search “Aadhaar” on the phone and open the file in a few seconds, you do not have a copy. You have clutter.
On-device, because it is an identity card
Aadhaar is not a receipt. Uploading it to a scanner’s cloud so the app can “enhance” the image is a bad trade. On-device capture and OCR mean the picture becomes a searchable PDF on the phone. Airplane mode is a blunt test: if it still works, the card did not leave.

Before you share it
